5 Ways to Wear Leopard Print This Year

Given the enthusiasm for leopard print this season, we had to revisit this pattern, oh so criticized or adored… In short, it leaves no one indifferent.
If animal prints are all the rage this season, leopard holds a special place among the celebrities who have embraced it, such as Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Emily Ratajkowski.
Symbol of ostentation, it is irreverent, provocative, and divisive, but that’s exactly why we love it.
Despite its sultry reputation, leopard print is easy to wear if you choose the right pieces. I’m sharing five ways to adopt the trend with class.
Why is leopard print so huge?
Unsurprisingly, leopard print appears at exactly the same time as the Mob Wife trend. Coincidence? Probably not, as the Mob Wife LOVES to sport this pattern on a big (faux) fur coat.
But alongside the loud aesthetics of the Mob Wife, leopard asserts its power in a more feminine and subtle way on the Fashion Week runways.
This year, it’s simple: leopard print was everywhere. We saw it, of course, at Dior but also at Céline, Balenciaga, Nina Ricci, and Saint Laurent.
To understand the success of leopard print in 2024, we must look to the younger generation who share on TikTok a new way to wear it that is less ostentatious and suitable for everyday wear.
1/ Shoes with leopard print
We start gently with leopard print on shoes. Probably the easiest way to wear this pattern, a pretty pair of ankle boots or heels in full leopard will be enough to spice up an outfit.
You can also choose an even more discreet way with a pair of sneakers adorned with some touches of leopard print that will enhance your look.
Opting for shoes with leopard print has the advantage of drawing attention without falling into vulgarity.
To make a too serious look a bit more hype, choose leopard ballet flats or loafers with wedge soles. Guaranteed wow effect!
2/ Handbag
Very easy to pull off, the leopard print bag is a fashion classic. From clutches to shoulder bags, leopard print becomes very easy to wear.
For those who love a bit of sparkle, don’t hesitate to go for a bag with sequins that will add a festive touch to the leopard print. Another option: choose a bag with a gold chain strap to reveal the strong personality of the leopard print without overdoing it.
3/ The dress or jumpsuit
Yes to the total leopard print look! For that, don’t hesitate and go for a dress or a jumpsuit for an unmistakable feline effect.
Of course, the goal when wearing the total leopard look is to avoid vulgarity, so unless you have the confidence of Kim Kardashian, I advise you to choose a garment that is quite covering and fluid in which you feel comfortable.
4/ The pants or leggings
Are you more team pants or team leggings? In both cases, leopard print will dress you perfectly. Personally, I have a soft spot for leggings. I love to wear them with high black boots, a long slightly kitsch t-shirt, and an oversized denim jacket. Whether it’s fluid pants, jeans, or leggings, leopard print is very easy to wear paired with a black top for a final look that is classy and bold.
5/ The jacket
Proudly wearing a leopard jacket without looking like a mafia woman is fortunately possible! For that, there are a few rules to follow. Wear it in a classic cut like a blazer, in casual mode over a shirt, or modern in a bomber coat version.
While it may be as burlesque as it is caricatured, the fur coat proves difficult to wear without falling into vulgarity. That’s why leopard print jackets with more classic or modern cuts are always a good choice.
Admit it, we all have a little leopard garment tucked away somewhere in our closets. Now is the perfect time to bring it out.
