Beach Outfit: What if you bet on swimwear?
This publication is also available in: Français Deutsch Italiano Español English (US)
When summer comes, comfort takes precedence over style for many of us. Heat, sand that scratches, sweat that sticks clothes to the skin… We seek lightness and ease above all else.
The result is that we fall into a trap: the trap of convenience. And we forget to dress well.
After all, why make the effort to dress when we know we’re going to sweat buckets on our towel?
The problem is that by playing this card, we risk falling into the archetype of the beach-goer covered in sun oil, tanned by the sun, who doesn’t take a step without their beloved cooler and the parasol they bought at the souvenir shop next door.
And when it comes to style, we assure you, we can do better.
One solution is to opt for a beach outfit. By this, we mean not just wearing a swimsuit, but a complete outfit adapted to an afternoon by the sea.
But then, what makes a good beach outfit? Why bother dressing well when our only goal is to swim? How can we make sure we have style on the beach?
These are the questions I will try to answer.
In this article, I will share good practices to have style, even when a lazy day by the water is called for!
Why wear a beach outfit?
This is a question that has surely crossed your mind. Why make the effort to dress properly, elegantly, when 5 minutes after arriving on the beach, you strip down (almost) completely to take a dip? After all, on the beach, we’re there to soak up the sun!
There are several answers to this question.
Firstly, having style is something that is cultivated. Take the analogy of writing: you don’t learn to write a book by sitting at your desk once every 6 months. It’s the same with clothing, by indulging in the game of style, even in the most informal moments, you will gradually find your own style and create a true universe around your clothes.
Then, it’s a way to stand out and show your true personality. It is often said that clothes reflect our identity. Why settle for a bland outfit that doesn’t flatter you when you can shout to the world who you are? Why not choose to have style in a context where nothing lends itself to it?
It’s the best way to dare to assert who you are.
Finally, a trip to the beach doesn’t mean you have to stay on your towel all day. You can take the opportunity to eat at a beach bar, cool off at a beach club, or have a friendly moment on a private beach with all the services that go with it. In this context, dressing with a beach outfit will make you feel more comfortable than just a swimsuit.
What makes a good beach outfit?
To answer this question, let’s break it down. A good beach outfit is:
- a swimsuit,
- a kimono or pareo,
- a pair of shoes,
- a hat,
- a beach bag,
- accessories (sunglasses, jewelry).
