Daisy Edgar-Jones: Fashion Icon on the Twisters Press Tour

This publication is also available in: Français Deutsch Italiano Español English (US)

While many of us first discovered her as Marianne in the hit series Normal People, this summer she takes center stage amid tornadoes in the blockbuster Twisters, a remake of the 90’s classic. However, beyond just playing the role of a thrill-seeking storm chaser, Daisy Edgar-Jones embodies, more than ever, a new face of fashion by transforming the press tour into a true catwalk! Here’s an analysis of looks we want to adopt as we head back to school!

Daisy Edgar-Jones, couture version

Following Charli XCX’s Brat or Sabrina Carpenter’s bangs contrasting with Jenna Ortega’s deep black, it’s now Daisy Edgar-Jones’s turn to create a sensation.

Like Paul Mescal, her on-screen partner in Normal People, the British actress has a deep affection for Gucci. After posing for Alessandro Michele, the young woman continues to support the Italian house by being one of the familiar faces at the shows created by Sabato de Sarno.

Adorned by Gucci at prestigious events like the BAFTA, Golden Globes, or Vanity Fair parties, Daisy Edgar-Jones has once again become the muse for the house’s artistic director during this press tour for Twisters. Notably, she wore a long white dress that she claims is one of the most beautiful pieces she has ever worn.

In addition to the talent of the Italian house, Daisy Edgar-Jones has worn memorable pieces from other designers. For instance, the draped dress by Vivienne Westwood for the London premiere of Twisters, the sequined dress by Oscar de la Renta worn at the Met Gala 2022, or even a tweed and feather ensemble by Magda Butrym and a corset dress by Versace on various red carpets. All of this was paired with Tiffany and Co or Cartier jewelry.

Daisy Edgar-Jones’s vintage-inspired wardrobe

Daisy Edgar-Jones’s style is intended to be feminine and elegant (chic and demure, as some might say), while reinventing the timeless with a few vintage touches.

Whether on the red carpet, in talk shows, on magazine covers, or in everyday life, the actress has created a wardrobe identity that makes a grand impact. Recently photographed for Vogue Korea and Who What Wear, she notably stands out in 70’s or Y2K-inspired outfits.

Between tartan patterns and off-the-shoulder collars, this retro influence complements her everyday dressing, punctuated by moccasins with socks or Burgundy leather bombers, aka, the new color of the season.

Twisters: a press tour with the flair of a fashion show

From Dallas to Miami, passing through London, LA, NYC, Oklahoma, and Seoul, the press tour took the film team around the globe. A tour that we followed like a fashion week, given how carefully curated Daisy Edgar-Jones’s outfits were.

In addition to traveling with Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos (always ready to try a Tik Tok dance), the actress surrounded herself with an impressive team, including Madeline Isaacs (daily styling), Jo Baker (makeup), Dani Michelle (red carpet styling), and Bryce Scarlett (hair).

The looks worn by the actress reflect her image, blending femininity and vintage vibes. We have notably observed numerous influences of quiet luxury and old money aesthetic, partly through wide pleated trousers and tailored blazers. Additionally, denim made its way into her suitcase, alongside pieces that played with transparency.

The outfits are graphic, featuring cut-out dresses, asymmetrical designs, or perfectly tailored tweed ensembles. Meanwhile, other looks envision a more retro silhouette, combining raw denim, cowboy boots, chunky leather bombers, and white t-shirts, refreshed by the series The Bear. Notably, Ayo Edebiri, who plays Sydney in the FX and Hulu series, praised Daisy’s looks under one of her Instagram photos: “These looks have become very personal to me”. And we must admit, they have also become personal for us.
