Why wearing socks has become so trendy?

Often overlooked as functional accessories that don’t need to be pretty and that we even try to hide, socks are reclaiming a more significant role thanks to stars who are giving this accessory a prominent place in fashion.

1. Socks: a tool for expression

We often forget them when getting dressed, yet showing off your rolled-up socks with sneakers and a dress, for example, is a real aesthetic choice. Made of wool, cotton, discreet or designed to catch the eye, socks are accessories that hold much more importance than they appear to. You got it, socks are the perfect way to express your personality in a subtle and fashionable way!

School girl, tenniscore, or even balletcore, does that ring a bell? Of course, because these are trends that have defined the year.

Do you see where I’m going with this? The trends that have emerged in recent seasons all have in common the emphasis on socks as the final accessory that adds the exact trendy touch to the look. Moreover, socks have the advantage of adapting to the rhythm of the seasons. In cotton, thin, white or pink in summer and spring, they pair perfectly with a balletcore style look. They extend up to the knee in autumn and winter, taking on nature-inspired shades like gray or light brown.
