While it is customary to associate fringes with western-inspired outfits or biker jackets, in 2026, they are breaking away from clich\u00e9s<\/strong> more than ever to carve out a place in fashion shows. From glamorous outfits to everyday wardrobes, let’s discover today how the fringe trend aims to assert itself this spring!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bold Return of the Fringe Trend<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If there is one place where we can sense the upcoming fashion trends, aside from fashion shows<\/em>, it is definitely on the red carpets of film festivals<\/a> and other 7th art ceremonies. Indeed, while Venice teased us with the first looks designed by Jonathan Anderson for Dior<\/a>, the latest cinema events confirmed the anticipated return of the fringe trend this spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To say the least, in 2026, fringes are making a bold statement! While some integrate them in a rather traditional and minimalist manner, with leather cutouts (Stella McCartney, Calvin Klein), others explore the materials further, offering the silhouette a festive, even playful touch<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, Pierpaolo Piccioli’s inaugural collection at Balenciaga incorporated fringed details in various approaches and materials. Integrated at certain points in the silhouette, they balance the shapes and add ton-on-ton details.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A quest for innovation has also been observed in the latest collections. On one hand, at Dior, with a bag with fringes as long as a train and in a grass color<\/strong>, unveiled for Anderson’s first Haute Couture collection (not to mention his grass coat made for LOEWE that fascinated us).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same goes for Ala\u00efa by Pieter Mulier, where we discovered tights covered in fringes, immediately adding a dramatic touch to the walk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the materials and craftsmanship used in the latest shows, we observed a great attraction for featherwork<\/strong>. Seen at Balenciaga and Bottega Veneta, we also admired it in Jacquemus’s Le Palmier collection, where the designer integrated it in various ways, creating a fringe-like spirit that is more or less airy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feather was revealed in its entirety on some pieces, and in a novel silhouette of confetti on others. Adding a playful touch to the fabric<\/strong>, Simon Porte Jacquemus turned to Maison F\u00e9vrier to create these details filled with finesse and lightness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
