Next, the plaid scarf remains a safe bet in terms of style. Timeless, it has dressed stylish girls for years. Thanks to its soft material and plaid pattern, it swings between comfort and elegance and inevitably adds a little twist to a winter look. If the plaid scarf is generally long, you will also find them in medium size and thinner. In this case, you can extend the season by wearing it until the end of winter or the beginning of spring for chilly mornings.

Finally, we find a type of scarf still unknown, but recently brought out of the 2000s closet by our fashion icon, I named Bella Hadid. This is the most trendy way to wear a scarf this winter, and perhaps the most practical. In the effortless version, the scarf is worn naturally, a bit carelessly, without tying, over a turtleneck sweater or on top of a long coat. And that’s the whole paradox of the effortless style. It represents a form of nonchalance, but its stylistic composition is done with care.

Let one end of your scarf hang in the front or belt it at the waist. 

With this version, you sport a style that’s more cosy than elegant. In this case, you can easily pair this fashion accessory with a pair of sneakers, boots like the Chunky Boots, the upcoming winter trend in shoes, or even a pair of fur-lined boots like Uggs for a 100% comfy look. And for pants, nothing will be more pleasant to wear than a good Levis 501 in a straight or boyfriend cut.

Tying your scarf to look elegant

For a bit more elegance, you can opt for other knots, maybe less trendy than the effortless version, but still easy to achieve and modern.

For example, there’s the simple knot. Just take one end of your scarf and wrap it around your neck so that both ends fall in front.

Another option, you can go for the folded version. For this, simply fold your scarf in half and pass one end through the other. Plaid scarves, silk scarves, wool scarves, printed scarves, or cotton scarves lend themselves very well to this type of knot.

The cape way: an audacious manner of wearing the scarf

If you’re looking for a more original way to wear a scarf while being stylish, opt for the cape-style tying. The idea is simple, just take a rather long and thick scarf, unfold it and put it over your shoulders. Then take a belt that you fasten at your waist and slip the remaining ends through.
