Toasty Makeup: The Art of Warming Up Your Autumn Look

This publication is also available in: Français Deutsch Italiano Español English (US)

The toasty makeup is nothing more than an autumn make-up look. Warm, comforting, and soft, while keeping the sun-kissed effects on the skin, it draws inspiration from the warm colors of the new season that is beginning.

The perfect aesthetic transition to embrace the start of autumn, the toasty makeup, however, requires a bit of subtlety to avoid the “Halloween before its time” effect, if you know what I mean. It’s not always easy to handle shades like red, orange, or brown discreetly…

That’s why I’m offering you a little ready-to-wear makeup guide for the chestnut season, tailored to every skin tone.

Ready? Let’s go.

The perfect colors for a toasty makeup

We are of course talking about colors inspired by autumn: shades of caramel, brown, deep red, or even copper and orange reflections that remind us of the leaves in motion and the golden light of the end of the day.

But toasty is not limited to an earthy and nostalgic palette. Some more unexpected variations break the codes: a line of golden-yellow eyeliner, almost solar, or a touch of metallic pink brings an optimistic and contemporary note. It’s this subtle mix of enveloping warmth and vibrant accents that gives this makeup its strength: it makes autumn cozy and softer.

For Brunettes

There are several advantages to adopting a toasty makeup if you are brunette. Let’s start with the best: brunettes will love this make-up trend that enhances the femme fatale side. It plays on mystery and sensuality with its dark and warm shades.

For Light Brown and Golden Hair

For light brown brunettes, it’s good to play with two, or even three colors maximum in the nude beige-light brown shade to bring a gradient of autumn colors without weighing down the face.

For Chocolate, Mahogany, and Hazel Brunettes

For brunettes with chocolate, mahogany, or hazel reflections, the idea is to highlight the natural richness of the hair without overdoing it. Warm shades like soft copper, reddish brown, or even a hint of gold awaken the depth of color and recall autumn tones. The trick? Bet on subtle touches, a maximum of two shades, that bring dimension and light without freezing the face.

For Dark and Moka Brunettes

For brunettes with very dark hair and those sporting beautiful black hair, the most important thing is to keep the face luminous. Also, think that outside, the sunlight will soon be just a memory… and you need to prepare to keep a make-up rather light when it’s gray outside, especially if you wear dark clothing. Choose soft and lively colors like pink. In powder form, you can apply it inside the eye to open up the gaze, as well as a flush for a fresh glow.

For Blondes

For Platinum and Polar Blondes

Cool and bright colors work best for these incredibly beautiful blondes, such as pearl gray, off-white, icy pastel pink, or pale blue. These shades enhance the glow and coolness of polar blonde without weighing down the face.

For Venetian and Golden Blondes

All warm and soft… shades like light caramel, warm beige, soft peach, or golden ivory bring light to the complexion.

For Ash and Beige Blondes

Ash blondes are elegant. Therefore, we will prioritize neutral and soft tones like light taupe, rose beige, sand, or light mocha. These shades balance the freshness of ash blonde and provide a natural finish.

For Redheads

For Light and Venetian Redheads

Soft and bright colors suit best, such as pale coral, golden beige, peach, or warm Venetian blonde. They highlight the warm reflections of light red without creating too harsh a contrast.

For Copper and Red Redheads

Rich and vibrant tones will enhance the warmth of your hair without saturating it. Look for shades like light burgundy, terracotta, bronze, or rust. These hues bring out the intensity of copper and red reflections.

For Mahogany and Dark Redheads

Have fun showcasing your femme fatale side with shades like milk chocolate, hazelnut brown, mocha, or mahogany red. These colors intensify the richness of dark red and give a sophisticated look.
