Want beautiful skin for 0 euros? No, this is not just a catchy phrase or an empty promise, but a very simple anti-aging beauty gesture that costs you nothing. And it requires just one ingredient: an ice cube made from rice water.
Used for centuries in Asia, this natural beauty tip is a secret to radiant, soft, and plumped skin. Popularized on TikTok by Korean influencers, rice water quickly became a key ingredient in skin care.
Rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, rice water is known for its soothing and firming properties. Used as a cold treatment on the skin, it is perfect for revitalizing tired skin without spending a single cent. Admit it, there’s nothing better!
Head to your fridge! I’ll explain how to prepare your homemade rice water, how to use it daily, and why it has become an essential part of my 0-euro beauty routine.
It all started one day when I ran out of toner…?
So, one day, I ran out of toner. Of course, it’s not a big deal, but I like to use it in the morning. That’s it. Since I had the chance to visit Korea, a country I adore, I remembered the advice of a Korean friend who makes her own beauty products with homemade rice water.
And off I went to cook some rice, just to retrieve the juice. Nothing complicated: keep the rinsing water (or cooking water, depending on the method), let it cool, and then store it in the freezer in an ice cube tray. It couldn’t be simpler! We wait a few hours, and every morning, we take an ice cube to glide over the face and neck. Okay, I have to admit that the neck… it stings a bit in the morning, but it’s an area of the body where the skin is very thin and shows wrinkles quickly. So, it’s important to take care of it.
If you don’t want to wait to test the benefits of rice on your face, take a cotton pad and pour a few drops of rice water on it before using it as a toner.
Since then, this rice water ice cube has become as simple a beauty gesture as my morning coffee. Zero euros, zero stress, and a real little moment for myself.
Rice Water Ice Cubes: A Free and True Luxury Ritual for the Skin
In recent years, we have seen a surge in anti-aging beauty routines as well as Botox recommendations for girls who aren’t even in their thirties. The result: we tend to see the same faces on social media, girls who, while certainly beautiful, are completely altered.
If, like me, you have no intention of going under the knife, it is still important to take care of your skin and develop an anti-aging beauty routine that works.
And to give a rejuvenating boost right in the morning, nothing beats cold therapy. I already mentioned it in this article.
Cold therapy instantly reduces inflammation and promotes circulation (which is why we apply cold to a bump when we injure ourselves, for example). On the face, this little thermal shock tightens the pores, tones the features, and gives an immediate glow to the skin. That’s exactly why the rice water ice cube has become my essential morning beauty gesture: a natural lifting effect, zero chemicals, and zero euros spent.
How I Incorporate It Into My Morning Beauty Routine
As for me, I start by cleansing my face (foam + organic donkey milk soap), then I take a rice water ice cube and gently glide it over my cheeks, forehead, and neck. A few seconds are enough to feel the skin toning up, and it definitely wakes you up! Then, I continue my usual routine in order: organic rose water lotion, serum, algae eye cream, and finally my hydrating day cream.
Since I’m a fan of Korean beauty products, I tend to adopt a 100% Korean anti-aging beauty routine, but of course, you can choose yours.
Be careful if you have sensitive eyes, as rice water can be irritating. The best approach is to treat it like a mask: avoid the eye contour and don’t apply the ice cube directly on the eyelids.
I hope this little advice with great effects has pleased you! I recommend it, even in winter, even when it’s hard to wake up. Well, just wait until you’ve had a hot coffee, the goal is not to suffer first thing in the morning!
