The concert outfit: more fashionable and trendy than ever

After sneaking into the most anticipated music events of the year, we came to a conclusion: the concert outfit has taken on a whole new dimension lately! Not only has it led to trends on social media, but the outfits worn at these events are no longer thrown together hastily. Indeed, whether it’s in the crowd or on stage, the concert attire now transforms the pits into fashion weeks and the stages into catwalks worthy of the greatest shows. Fashion and music have become one, through outfits designed with detail, creating a community on one side and showcasing talents and creators on the other.

The concert outfit: the dress code of a community

With video lookbooks, boutique vlogs, piece selections in carousels, and trendy outfit reveal reels set to catchy music… The concept of the concert outfit has become a true trend on social media recently. So much so that putting together an outfit seems to generate as much stress as the battle experienced a few months ago on Ticketmaster!

Indeed, gone are the days when we would choose a standard outfit focused on comfort or a simple combo of jeans and a t-shirt featuring the artist… Now, selecting the pieces we will wear to a concert is an integral part of the experience, and we have also embraced this challenge!

The concert outfit of Olivia Dean and Bad Bunny: two venues, two vibes

While it may be amusing to see the same outfits 4673 times, it’s also wonderful to see a true community forming around an artist and to witness so many people embracing the vibe for an evening. The concert outfit thus becomes a sort of uniform, providing a sense of belonging to a group sharing common passions and enhancing the collective experience felt during a concert.

As such, each group presents signature pieces reflecting the supported artist and their universe. We think of the tie for Harry Styles’ Together, Together Tour, or the polka dot skirts and dresses for Olivia Dean’s concerts.

However, some concert outfits are designed with a different goal in mind… As was the case during Bad Bunny’s DTMF Tour!

Indeed, beyond the desire to immerse in the theme of the concert, the outfits observed that combined bikini tops, crochet pieces, cowboy boots, and scarves were, for some (for many), crafted with the utmost care to stand out and hope for an invitation to the Casita. This motivation is notably behind the boom on social media of content/tips for crafting the perfect concert outfit.

Concert outfit or runway attire? When artists become muses for designers

Apart from the crowd, the artists themselves transform their stage into a runway by showcasing the current designers through their concert outfits. Indeed, fashion and music have coexisted for many years and have led to iconic collaborations such as the LOEWE jumpsuit worn by Beyoncé during the Renaissance World Tour, or the outfits designed by Harris Reed for Harry Styles’ previous tour.

Recently, Bad Bunny’s appearance on the Côte d’Azur was accompanied by the presence of Simon Porte Jacquemus in the casita and an exclusive outfit created by the designer for the singer. Embroidered “Benito in Marseille,” this concert outfit was revealed in the colors of the South as it should be!

Dior house, under the vision of Jonathan Anderson, is also shining brightly on the music scene right now.

On one hand, the Irish designer has rethought Rosalía’s costumes for the North American dates of her LUX Tour. Maintaining the original silhouettes of the pieces, he infused the soul of the Parisian house through the signature details of his recent creations. The set of outfits thus harmonized perfectly with the artist’s universe and echoed the importance of art in her show.

Apart from custom designs, the stage of Dior’s ambassador artists serves as an extension of the house’s shows, with wardrobes incorporating its newly unveiled creations.

We particularly think of the costumes of the BTS group, who recently passed through Paris, as well as the outfits worn by Guitarricadelafuente for his Spanish Leather Tour.

Between blazers, scarves, and Medallion belts during his visit to Paris, embroidered jackets with spring motifs at Primavera Sound, or even Delft shorts, polo shirts, and jeans with pearl tears to accompany the festivals this summer… The pieces of this new Dior chapter blend elegantly into the artist’s rather casual wardrobe, creating a timeless and enchanting ensemble reflective of his music.

A lookbook that we owe, of course, to the creations of the Parisian house, but also thanks to the bold and skillful vision of stylist Luca Guarini.

When stylists are as celebrated as artists

The popularity of artists’ looks increasingly highlights the work of stylists, who usually operate in the shadows. Thus, after the spotlight on profiles linked to the 7th art like Law Roach (and Zendaya) or Felicity Kay (alongside Paul Mescal), the world of music also shines a light on the talents that elevate the artists.

We particularly think of the work of Simone Beyene, the stylist of Olivia Dean (whom we all dream of having by our side!). The collaboration between the stylist and the singer is one of the most acclaimed at the moment, with each look striving to be more sumptuous than the last.

Highlighting pieces from various designers while keeping the artist’s DNA at the heart of the concert outfit, the looks showcase a clever mix of elegance, modernized vintage cuts, and bold choices of patterns, sequins, and other fringes and feathers.
