I Tested the Rich Girl Nails Manicure Trend

This publication is also available in: Français Deutsch Italiano Español

The Rich Girl Nails manicure trend adored by American celebrities is being copied in salons around the world.

Between discreet luxury and nude elegance, it didn’t take much to spark our curiosity. To test this trend, I went to my usual nail artist to request a rich girl nails manicure.

I came to the salon with photos of the work of Tom Bachik, the nail artist for JLO, Hailey Bieber, and Selena Gomez, and left my hands in the care of my expert.

Result: I love it. The caramelized nude beige color – that’s how I would describe it – is shiny, smooth, and complements both a professional outfit and a more eccentric look. The glazed mirror effect on the nails is truly divine.

Spoiler alert: the Rich Girl Nails manicure trend is a must-have, easy to copy, and instantly adds a luxurious, fresh, and clean touch to your look. We adopt it without hesitation!

Where to find inspiration to adopt the Rich Girl Nails manicure trend?

It’s THE manicure of the moment and it’s ultra-simple to copy.

Since it’s a simple, no-frills trend, it perfectly complements and balances the summer floral print fashion trend.

For inspiration, you can find plenty of ideas on Pinterest or Instagram using the hashtag #richgirlnails.

Next step: Go to a professional salon. Personally, I’ve never done a manicure at home, preferring to leave the care of my nails to a professional whose job it is.

However, to highlight your beautiful nails, take care of your hands daily. My secret? Calendula cream, which deeply nourishes my dry-prone skin.

To ensure a successful manicure, choose the color carefully, and don’t hesitate to ask your expert for advice. Beauty salons are well-informed about trends.

Last step and not the least, own it and ask for your luxury manicure!

Why having a good manicure is more important than you think?

Manicure is often thought of as a detail of the look! However, it is much more important than you think.

Indeed, having pretty hands and a perfect or nearly perfect manicure makes you a person who pays attention to the details and has a sense of aesthetics. Yes, that’s a lot of qualities hidden under a few fake nails.

Hands are a part of the body that attracts attention, which is why having a good manicure is important.

What I loved about testing the Rich Girl Nails manicure trend is that, on the one hand, it’s impossible to make a fashion faux-pas (unless you really try hard!), and on the other hand, it’s discreet and easy to wear.

What your manicure says about you

Your manicure says a lot about you. The rich girl nails trend, if you adopt it, says, for example, that you are a clean and slightly perfectionist person. Needless to say, I recommend getting a manicure before a job interview or an important meeting.

Unkempt hands and bitten nails will betray a stressed person who doesn’t take time for themselves and has trouble managing their priorities. In short, definitely not the image we want to give.

How to wear the manicure well?

Choosing the right color

Rather nude, one tone above or below your skin color.

One of the flagship colors of the rich girl nails manicure is beige or caramel nude. The advantage: it suits both dark and light skin tones. However, to highlight my nails, I preferred to go for a slightly darker shade that stands out a bit from my skin color. In the end, the result was lighter than I thought, but I love my shiny, clean nails, and the color matches absolutely all the pieces in my wardrobe.

Since the flagship colors of the Rich girl nails manicure trend are solid, shiny, and in nude tones, it’s hard to go wrong.

For my part, I initially wanted to go for a coffee-caramel color (like the middle finger in the photo), but I ended up with powdery nude beige nails (more like the ring finger in the photo).

Choosing the right nail shape

I hesitated between Squoval or Almond but eventually opted for the Almond shape. Having fairly small hands, I think it’s the perfect shape as it naturally elongates the fingers.

If like me, you work on a computer, limit the length of your nails to a maximum of 1cm; otherwise, it becomes difficult to type without difficulty.

Advice for moms: Stiletto nails can be tempting, but having tried them during my last manicure, they don’t work at all with the fast-paced life of parents. They’re neither practical for changing diapers nor for dressing a child without scratching them. Needless to say, my son didn’t appreciate it (I know, poor thing, but he got over it).
