Since 2016, the Parisian brand Rouje has been highlighting women through a wardrobe designed by Jeanne Damas, which is both feminine and slightly vintage. This spring, it is the creativity of French and international artists that is honored in the stores, as part of the collaboration Les Créatrices en Rouje. Presented in Paris, Bordeaux, and New York, this collection of creations, including paintings, ceramics, and sewing, proposes a seductive dialogue around the color red.
Les Créatrices en Rouje: Spotlight on Female Artists
Running from April 23 to June 30, the collaboration Les Créatrices en Rouje shines a light on women, creation, and the color red. For this occasion, Jeanne Damas surrounded herself with curator Emily Marant, founder of Studio Marant and co-founder of the gallery French Cliché. With a background related to art, fashion, and design, her eye has managed to gather pieces that are both original and aligned with the universe of the ready-to-wear brand.
Between tableware and decorative accessories, all the creations reveal varied styles and inspirations, but all share one common point: the color red.
We discover ceramic pieces, including mugs, egg cups, plates, matches, and butter dishes, all covered with charming patterns. Additionally, tea is also presented. On the decor side, embroidered placemats, vases with beautiful curves, and other cake boxes coexist with embroidered cushions and other painted canvases that would look great adorning our walls.
The whole collection aims to be unique and very creative. A search is evident in the play of shapes, colors, and materials, making it both playful and aesthetic. These pieces are designed by the following French and international creators: Pia Chevalier, Mary Clerté, Conservatoire des Hémisphères, Sarah Espeute, Ghia, Rosemary Home, House of Roro, Janie Korn, Les Confitures Parisiennes, Ines Melia, Laetitia Rouget, Esmé Saccuccimorano, Lucie Sotty, Lise Stoufflet, Karla Sutra, Verre d’Onge.
The Creators Honored at Rouje Paris
As fans of the Rouje brand, we were very eager to discover the highlighted pieces of the Parisian boutique. Thus, we went to rue Bachaumont, in the 2nd arrondissement, to explore the pieces from the collaboration Les Créatrices en Rouje.
These creations fit seamlessly among the pieces from Jeanne Damas’s collections. Bringing a sophisticated and creative touch, the creations of the 16 artists add a beautiful ambiance to the already very elegant boutique. The pieces are also featured in the “glasshouse” space at the back of the boutique, adding a slight “museum” feel to the whole and allowing the pieces to coexist side by side.

The result of the selection of pieces from Les Créatrices en Rouje is in perfect harmony with the brand’s and boutique’s DNA. And it’s a wonderful way to discover or rediscover female artists. Our favorites are the canvases with delicate styles. Additionally, the embroidered cutlery sets and the colorful butter dish caught our eye during our visit!

This visit to the collaboration Les Créatrices en Rouje inspired us to get back into painting and pottery to let our creativity flow!! So, if you’re in the area, we highly recommend stopping by the Rouje boutique, Rue Bachaumont 75002 Paris. (And if you’re in Paris or New York, we leave it to you to discover those two other locations for us!)
