Flower patterns and stripes: the prints of this spring

Now that the sun has officially made its grand return, it’s easier for us to envision our spring wardrobe. So today, we wanted to focus on the prints that will enhance the season, namely floral patterns and stripes. But beware, these last ones won’t be hidden; on the contrary, their aim is to stand out!
Floral patterns make a strong comeback, boldly and maximally
If there’s one thing we’ve taken away from Pinterest Predicts 2026, it’s the return of maximalism in outfits. Indeed, it seems that the somewhat impersonal and overly polished side of quiet luxury has become dull, and a desire for boldness is resurfacing!
And it’s in this quest for a grand effect that floral patterns are blooming once again this season, both in prints and in textures.
A bouquet of prints, blending retro inspirations and Regency style
Naturally, when we talk about floral patterns, we immediately think of the work of Liberty Fabrics London and their iconic floral pattern.
More specifically, our minds have been captivated in recent weeks by their recent (and second) collaboration with the Bridgerton series, for which a collection of prints and pieces inspired by Regency style has been created to celebrate the release of season 4. And we are fans!

On the brand and runway side, botanical patterns have revealed themselves with a retro spirit inviting us on a journey through time.
Chloé, Zimmerman, Richard Quinn, and Celine opt for bold and assertive visions of prints. From pastel romantic inspirations to patterns bordering on kitsch, or even shapes reminiscent of the 60s/70s… The floral pattern is more versatile than ever this spring!

Outfits bursting with creativity
Prints are not the only ones reintroducing the floral pattern into our wardrobe. The forms of nature also invite themselves through volume, inspiring new silhouettes and approaches to materials for designers.
Acting as an unparalleled source of inspiration, flowers have bloomed on recent runways through pieces that combine creativity and rich craftsmanship, like the creations from Jonathan Anderson’s first haute couture collection for Dior.
This work with materials also plays with a trompe l’oeil spirit, which makes outfits bloom in a more or less maximalist way. We think, for example, of the Richard Quinn dress worn by Nicola Coughlan at the BAFTAs, or the tonal relief aspect at Zimmerman.

Moreover, the Tisser, Broder, Sublimer exhibition at Palais Galliera currently offers a wonderful insight into the evolution of the floral pattern through the centuries and embellishment techniques.

Stripes in every configuration
Horizontally, vertically, or even diagonally, stripes are making their way into our outfits this spring-summer, from head to toe.
This print, which was already prominent last year with Oxford shirts and linen pants, is making a strong return, particularly through one piece: the striped top.

The rugby polo for a sportswear & casual spirit off the field
Shading the classic sailor top, the current striped top aims to be a bit more retro and even invites a revisit of the rugby polo.
Making its way into trends since last year, this spring’s polo presents itself as a variation of modern preppy style. Blending sportswear spirit and casual style, it charms with its lines and bold print.

Featuring stripes of different thicknesses and playing with vintage colors (shades of blue, green, cream, or pink), it even integrates the wardrobes of renowned houses like Dior. We also discover it through cuts that are closer to the body, allowing for a more casual line.
For a piece with a more versatile profile, long or short-sleeve striped tops are also key this season. Some creations even feature advertising-style wording that adds to their appeal, especially with their retro/Y2K vibe.

Stripes in every direction
Diagonal on a tie by Celine, or completely vertical on a dress from the inaugural LOEWE collection by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, stripes – like floral patterns – demonstrate a great versatility.
Adding a graphic detail to an outfit, stripes can redefine a silhouette and can be worn as discreetly or boldly as you like!
