They took a final bow after the Jil Sander show in Milan, the brand’s headquarters. Lucie and Luke Meier are stepping down from the artistic direction of the minimalist luxury brand after nearly eight years of dedicated service. The announcement was made on February 26, right after the presentation of the autumn-winter 2025 collection.
The president of the OTB group, owner of Jil Sander, praised their vision, quest for excellence, and commitment to the house.

Jil Sander in the Meier Era
Under the artistic direction of Lucie and Luke Meier, Jil Sander has regained its former glory. The couple, who met at Polimoda in Florence in 2001, managed to reinterpret the minimalist DNA of the German house (originating from Hamburg) with a touch of emotion and an obsession with detail. Their vision, balancing rigor and sensitivity, has restored a valuable stability to the brand while celebrating craftsmanship and the purity of lines. A successful bet: in 2023, sales surged by 17.3%, proving that the Jil Sander minimalist aesthetic remains irresistibly attractive.

Personally, I love the minimalism at Jil Sander, as the designers have infused it with an almost polar purity, a signature that, combined with timeless cuts, perfectly embodies the spirit of quiet luxury.

I can’t talk about Jil Sander without mentioning the chunky-soled boots. - Reversible padded short skirt
A skirt that does not go unnoticed. Once again, we are faced with a (seemingly) rather simple piece with a symmetrical cut, but what makes all the difference is the material work and its reversibility. Made from 100% polyamide, an elastic and breathable material, it offers great freedom of movement and, above all… absolute comfort.
